Alongside commercial and commissioned projects, our studio created America, a heartfelt independent animated short film that has received critical acclaim and been featured in numerous festivals worldwide.
America follows the story of young Yossi and his mother, caught between the memories of Russia, their longing for America, and the present reality of the Middle East. Set during the early years of the State of Israel, the film immerses the viewer in the nostalgic yet vibrant immigrant experience of the time.
Through hand-drawn animation, we crafted a world that reflects the energy and complexity of 1950s Israel, blending the hardships of adaptation with the hopes and dreams of a better future. The animation style evokes a sense of nostalgia while retaining a lively, dynamic spirit. The traditional approach was crucial to bring the era to life, with every small detail—the bustling streets, intimate family moments—working to create a rich, immersive world that feels both historic and alive.
America is a testament to the power of animation as a medium that connects people and tells deeply human, universally relatable stories. Its success in festivals highlights the universal appeal of its themes, combined with a unique artistic execution that resonates deeply with audiences.
