Bringing Complex Ideas to Life
Our team developed unique visual approaches for each lesson, crafting distinctive animation styles that enhanced the educational narrative while maintaining TED’s renowned standards of excellence
One of our standout projects for TED-Ed is The Infinite Hotel, a film that illustrates a highly complex mathematical riddle. For this project, we drew inspiration from silent films and 1920s cartoon designs, featuring period costumes that added a humorous and absurd touch.
The main character we chose is a hapless hotel manager who must find a solution to the problem of an infinite number of guests arriving at the hotel unexpectedly. The comedic style not only brought the mathematical concept to life but made it both engaging and easy to understand.
The film’s massive success, quickly becoming one of the most-watched TED-Ed videos, speaks for itself. The Infinite Hotel demonstrates how animation can take a challenging subject and make it accessible, entertaining, and educational. It perfectly showcases our ability to bring complex ideas to life while staying true to TED-Ed’s mission to transform even the most difficult topics into memorable learning experiences.
